What's in a "NAME"?

So.. What if your name is Khan?! The social paranoia about a Muslim is always a terrorist, plagues societies around the world! So how exactly does a "simple" & "Real" Muslim face the consequences & fight his way through this? Well, MNIK is all about it is well known fact but how is it narrated to the audience is very crucial! The plot is well laid out, but lacks the pull & hold a movie has to have on its audience! Nevertheless, it ain't that "bad" either! Slow, sensitive, shaky (at places) the movie just goes on! It is finally the character Rizvan Khan (SRK) who manages to keep you glued! I am indeed a huge fan of SRK, but am more realistic! When he has done bad work, I've equally hated him for that! When I 1st heard this character has some kind of a "mental disorder", I was really wondering will this guy really pull it off well?! But now after having seen his performance, my humble salute to him! He is "in the character", he is all over it!!! Words aren't enough to applaud his performance! He deserves a round of applause people! Coming to Mandira (Kajol), I couldn't find anything "special" but she has done justice to the role too. The other characters though small, are well woven in the story! Each NAME (character) has something to convey! It is a package deal & surely there's a lot each one has something to take back along. Worth a watch once for sure & worth giving a thought about the message. I give the movie an overall of 3.5/5 & 5/5 to Rizvan Khan!

Tech Support - The soul inside me...

My interest in computers & all that goes into it etc etc, dates back to my childhood days and am glad I could get a hold of it quite well by now! Am not really the "geek" kinda guy roaming around but my "thirst" for gadgets is ever growing. So, all this years I have always looked at opportunities where I could "learn" more & more about computers, which today has made the "Tech Support" in your friendly neighborhood! Am not all that 101% knowledgeable or anything but still am the one roaming around help near & dear ones with their "computer issues" and this just seems to be keeping me "the happening guy" in the circuit for some time to come. Different PC's different issues, each a challenge at times, it is always a gruesome job which tests your patience than your skills! From the past two weeks I have spent good time on close to 4 PC's, and it has been one hellava work experience! I wanna learn "more" now! Whether it is Windows or Linux, I just wanna learn it all... A close friend of mine actually suggested me that I should take up this seriously as "business"!!! Business??? C'mon am the "friendly neighborhood" guy here... Just Happy to Help! I just wanna thank all those people who trust me even more than their own comp :P I actually wanna go ahead & give a gist of my experiences, but guess thats not important! It had been hell long since I "blogged" & this "thing" "happening" in my life often, made me "write" about it!

Politico's go "Economy"

Three months since taking to office, the Union External Affairs Minister & his better half, the MoS were "requested" to vacate their stint of "lodging" at five star hotels at the Tax payers cost! And since ever, the entire bunch of seem to have taken the que from their colleague, the MoFin after his statement asking his fellow people to "save" money & travel "economy"!!! Suprisingly our politico's seem to have finally realised the value of the tax payer's sweat & hard work! Is this another just another political reality show or do they really care about taking this country forward?? Not to forget their "buddies", who obviously started making statements in the media against the government's drive to save some money, calling it a "drama". As much as a cliche it is, they don't portray themselves any better as against the "active" souls running the government. When are these honchos really "growing" up & worry about bigger things than such petty issues?! If a minister wants to travel Business class or even the First class, let he/she do so at his/her additional personal expenditure upon the allowance he/she is eligible for! Basically, something has to be making "news" in our system & sustain the limelight on the people running the nation. It is time, even the media shifted focused on issues plaguing the citizens than getting higher TRPs!!

The Greatest Ever

It has been sometime since I made time out to come out & post some interesting stuff. I just couldn't figure out a topic to write on! But finally (though late) I feel like writing about this man, highly inspiring, cool headed & highly determined etc etc. I really can't find enough superlatives to describe him! French Open, the one grand slam which till now seemed this man was "banned" from winning ever, with the reigning clay king Rafa. 2009 turned the tables when the "king" fell to a rookie (kind of) in the initial rounds, somewhat making way for the Master to realise his dream win. But the run was never easy for Fed-ex as he almost "passed through the flames & rose from the ashes" to claim his 14th Grand Slam title, on par with Sampras's world record. People (mostly critics, incl. Rafa fans) started "claiming" the win was purely a "white wash" after Rafa's exit! Well, I'd say one thing to all 'em, "Nice try, covering up another mans' loss". The best of the compliments was this "In an era of specialists, you're either a clay court specialist or you're a grass court specialist or you're a hard court specialist... Or you're a Roger Federer" by Jimmy Connors. I just couldn't stop admiring this a whole day! Next up Wimbledon & many more to come, & I can only imagine how great it would be to see him win many more titles & set a new benchmark in the history of tennis. Hats off this living legend.

Change-How to accept it?

Reading the book "Who Moved My Cheese?" was far more than inspirational journey. My dad gave this book to read, and I will always be thankful for it. Perfect timing to have come across this book, as I was some one looking to build up some positive energy from inside of me. Its a nice little story about how one adapts to "changes" in life, whether you like it or not. It can be gisted out in four simple points:

• Anticipate change.
• Adapt to change quickly.
• Enjoy change.
• Be ready to change quickly, again and again.

The book is very realistic & simple in its approach, which makes it a phenomenal piece of work.  Its a roadmap for us to use as we deal with our own individual circumstances around change. Am sure many of us have read lots of "inspirational" works, but this one stands out. It only inspired me to go for the "change" & get the "New Cheese" am looking for. Now am more confident & positive about what I do. Its a must read for all. Do make it a point to get hold of this & see what a difference it will make.

The year gone by...

In the wink of an eye, its already over. June '08 was when I gave my final year degree exams. I performed fine, except for one subject (I hate Maths). So I decided not to jump into anything serious right away & take a break. Did run around for few interviews, what are the odds anyway!!! One of them actually clicked & there I had the offer letter in my hands. Yeah, it was a BPO!!! Nothing great about it, but I was happy with all that I have been through somebody found me worth it. Anyways, that job never happened for unknown reasons. Days passed by, and there came another opportunity knock knock knocking on my doors. PwC , one of the BIG FOUR wanted to hire on a short term. I gave it a try & yes I was HIRED!!! I was into my first ever job, by around 1st week of August. The overall experience was a memorable one (won't go in detail). This too was short lived, and I had to leave the company by November. It was after all this, when things only got more complicated, I was feeling I was out of options & ideas for my future. Frankly, I have been doing nothing since then (hate myself for it). Time passed by & I didn't even realise. Lots of touring, visiting family & friends in near by towns kept me busy. Meanwhile the only productive thing I did was to prepare for MBA entrance exams ahead (I got to write one on May 03rd, wish me luck). The tour to Belgaum, Mumbai & Pune was special. Overall, the past 6 months have been full of experiences that I cannot put in words. It has changed me for sure! Now I have some big challenges in front of me, all I am hoping is I succeed. I also have a very special wish deep inside my heart, and I know first I should make myself worth it to desire about it. Now starts a different journey of my life.....
